COACHES DAY LAGOS STATE — MFCC BOW OUT IN QUARTER FINALS

Coaches Day Lagos State — MFCC Bow Out in Quarter Finals

The Lagos State Coaches Day brought together coaching councils from across the state for a day of celebration, camaraderie, and competitive football — with the coaches themselves lacing up their boots and taking to the pitch.

The event, organized to honor the dedication of football coaches across Lagos State, featured a knockout tournament where coaching councils fielded their own teams. It was a rare chance to see the men and women who spend their days on the touchline step onto the field and compete.

The Mushin Football Coaches Council entered the competition with high spirits and put in strong performances in the group stage, showcasing the same tactical discipline and teamwork they instill in their players. However, their run came to an end in the quarter-finals, where they were edged out in a tightly contested match.

Despite the early exit, the day was far from a disappointment. The tournament reinforced the unity and competitive spirit within the council. Coaches who normally analyze the game from the sidelines got to experience the pressure, the fatigue, and the thrill of competition firsthand — a reminder of what their players go through every match day.

The Mushin coaches received praise from fellow participants and organizers for their sportsmanship and organization. The experience has only strengthened the council's resolve to come back stronger at the next edition.

As one council member put it: "We coach the game every day, but playing it reminds you why you fell in love with football in the first place."
