In a landmark move for women's football in Mushin, the MFCC has launched its Women's Football Initiative — a comprehensive program aimed at expanding opportunities for women and girls in the sport.
The initiative includes a girls' youth academy for players aged 8-18, a women's coaching certification course, and community outreach programs designed to break down barriers that prevent women and girls from participating in football.
Adeyemo Fasilat, the council's Welfare Officer, emphasized that the program is about more than just football: "We're creating safe spaces where girls can develop confidence, leadership skills, and a love for the game. Football is a powerful tool for empowerment."
